The short version: we try to know as little about you as we can while still shipping a working product. Some of our apps keep what you do in them on servers run for us by a hosting provider. We also use a small set of standard services — crash reporting, analytics, and, in the apps that show ads, an ad network. We don't sell your data and we don't combine what we collect with data brokers.
Our apps and websites are operated by Syness Studios LLC, a Colorado limited liability company.

Local data on your device. Settings and some progress live only on your device, and we never see those. What an app does keep on our servers is described under App data on our servers below, and in that app's own policy.
Cloud sync (when offered). Some of our apps may offer optional sync. Depending on the app, this may be backed by Apple iCloud, your Google account, or a Syness account. The specifics will be disclosed in-app at the time you opt in, and this policy will be updated to reflect them.
App data on our servers. Some of our apps keep your progress on our servers so it is there when you come back, using an identifier assigned to your device rather than an account. This is not optional and there is no sync setting to turn on. Where an app works this way, its own policy says exactly what is stored and for how long.
Account information (if you create a Syness account). Email address, a hashed password, and the data you choose to sync.
Diagnostic and crash data. When the app crashes or hits an error, we receive technical information — device model, OS version, app version, and a crash trace — so we can fix bugs.
Usage analytics. In-app events — which screens are opened, completion rates, retention metrics — sent to our analytics provider along with an installation identifier. We report on them in aggregate, and we do not use analytics to identify individual users.
Game Center / Google Play Games data. If you sign in to Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, those services share a player identifier and (optionally) a display name with us so we can show leaderboards and achievements. Apple's and Google's policies govern that data.
Purchase information. When you buy something or start a subscription, Apple or Google handle the payment. We receive a transaction receipt — we never see your card details.
Advertising data (in apps that show ads). Ad networks may receive a resettable advertising identifier (Apple IDFA or Google AAID), coarse location derived from your IP, and basic device information to serve and measure ads. See Section 4.
Contact data. If you email us, we keep what you wrote and your email address so we can reply.
To ship our apps we rely on a small set of service categories. Each provider in each category is bound by its own privacy policy, and we choose providers that limit data collection to what's needed to deliver the service.
If you'd like to know which specific providers we currently use, email help@syness.io and we'll tell you.
Some of our apps include advertising. To serve and measure ads, ad networks may use a resettable advertising identifier and limited device data.
On iOS, you'll see Apple's "Allow App to Track" prompt the first time it's relevant. If you decline, we and our ad partners will not use the IDFA or perform cross-app tracking. You can change your decision at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads in Settings → Google → Ads.
We use Apple's definition of "tracking": linking activity from our apps with third-party data for targeted advertising or measurement. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with data brokers.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in:
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their refund policies. Pricing, billing period, and trial terms are disclosed in the app before purchase.
Our apps are intended for a general audience (ages 13 and up) and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact help@syness.io and we will delete it.
For users under 16 in the EEA and UK, we rely on Apple's and Google's age-gating and parental controls.
Wherever you live, you can ask us:
If you live in the EEA, UK, California, Colorado, or another US state with comprehensive privacy laws (Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others), you have these rights by law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CPA, etc.). Everyone else has them because we extend them by policy.
Email help@syness.io and we'll respond within 30 days. We will not retaliate or charge you for exercising these rights.
California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. For details please see Account Deletion.
Retention. Where an app has accounts, we keep account data while the account is active, plus 30 days after deletion. Where an app uses a device identifier instead, we keep the data behind it until you ask us to delete it, plus 30 days. Crash and analytics data is retained for up to 90 days in identifiable form and then aggregated. Transaction and tax records are kept for seven years to comply with US tax law.
Security. Where an app has accounts, passwords are salted and hashed. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs, we'll notify affected users promptly and as required by law.
Where data is stored. Syness Studios LLC operates from the United States. If you use our apps from the EEA or the UK, your information is transferred out of the EEA or the UK to reach us and the providers described in Section 3.
For those transfers, we use providers whose terms include the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) of the GDPR, together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for UK data. These apply whenever the transfer is not already covered by a European Commission adequacy decision for that provider. Section 3 tells you how to ask which providers we currently use; write to help@syness.io and we will also send you a copy of the clauses for any of them.
When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of the page and post the change here. For material changes we'll also describe them in the affected app's release notes, and by email if you have an account on file.
